Mohamed Ahmed Minawi Digeish, the MP of Kornoi Um Baru and El Tina constituency announced that an agreement has been reached with the social affairs committee in North Darfur to resolve the problems of the state’s (Hajj) pilgrims, whose quotas were dropped because the bank barred the payment site.

He said in an interview with Radio Dabanga on Friday that the dropped quotas were 115 out of 912 allocated for North Darfur.

Digeish said that the state government, in agreement with the social affairs committee, has pledged to resolve all problems of pilgrims and succeeded in addressing about 62 cases on their way now to finish their procedures that will begin on Sunday.

He explained that the committee is on its way to resolving the remaining displaced persons cases totalling about 53.

He stressed that the committee has pledged “to address all their problems in a couple of days from now”.

He said that he himself would remain engaged in the cases of pilgrims for the displaced persons until their problems are addressed.
