No drinking water in Wadi Osher, North Darfur

The people in the areas south of El Malha in North Darfur are suffering from a severe drinking water crisis. A resident of Osher reported to Radio Dabanga that since more than a week the last water station broke down in the areas of Wadi Osher and Marsoos. “All the water stations in the region are not operating anymore owing to a shortage of fuel and spare parts.” “We currently fetch water from El Malha town, which is miles away from Wadi Osher. We leave early in the morning, and return in the middle of the night.” He appealed to the authorities to provide fuel and spare parts as soon as possible, “so that the people and their livestock will not die from thirst and exhaustion”.
