Presidential candidate Yasir Arman visited Ed Daein and Nyala yesterday as part of his electoral campaign. In Nyala, the Humanitarian Affairs Commission and the security authorities refused authorization for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) to receive Yasir Arman. The authorities justified the decision claiming that the license application requires a visit of two days instead of only one day. Addressing a gathering on the city square in Ed Daein, Arman called for peaceful coexistence and the beheading of the devil — a reference to the National Conference Party (NCP). The assistant political secretary of the Sudan People’s Liberation in Ad Daein, Sabah Hamid Abdullah told Radio Dabanga that Arman called on the people to vote for him in order to solve the Darfur problem.
