Murder, robberies in South and Central Darfur

A 21-year old resident of the Nama camp for the displaced in Kass locality, South Darfur, was killed on Wednesday. On Thursday, two displaced were robbed in Central Darfur. “Zaki El Nur was shot dead by a militia member working for the agricultural committee in Kass because of a disagreement about the payment of fees,” a colleague of the victim reported to Radio Dabanga. The witness added that government-backed militiamen are intimidating, assaulting, and killing displaced working at their farmlands. He called upon the local authorities to protect the farmers from “these ongoing attacks”.
