Mounted bandits kill four, wound three in South Darfur

Four people were killed and three others wounded on Saturday morning when gunmen mounted on horses opened fire on a twin-cab Land Cruiser in South Darfur. A witness told Radio Dabanga that the bandits opened fire on the vehicle on the road between Buram and Tullus. It was carrying “traders, brokers and livestock”. “The incident occurred less than a kilometre from the headquarters of the 121 Army Infantry base in Buram,” the witness said. “A well-known trader called Shawa was one of the four dead. The injured include Haroun Hamarabi, Haroun Yaqoub, and the vehicle’s driver Sheikh Ibrahim Jibril.” It has been reported that a rescue team was later able to identify the alledged perpetrators.
