More Rufaa tribesmen detained in eastern Sudan

Four more members of the Rufaa tribe were detained in Sennar State last week.
The police of Sinja, capital of Sennar, took El Sadig Babikir Rahma, Omda of Kokery in El Mazmum locality, into custody without any charges on Friday.
Rufaa Sheikh Saeed Mohamed of Kokery, and tribesmen Mohamed Ahmed and Abdelrahman were detained as well last week, Nazir Yousef Ahmed Yousef reported to Radio Dabanga from Sinja.
He demanded that the Sennar State authorities “stay committed to the 2013 Presidential Decree that orders the allotment of farmlands and pastures to returnees from South Sudan”.
In July, Yousef told this station that the successive governors of Sennar have not carried out the implementation of the decisions issued by the Presidency of Sudan since 2013 for the development of the state. They have also “failed to implement any of these services including opening of tracks, residential land planning, and providing humanitarian services”.
The native administration leader called upon the Khartoum government to send a neutral central committee to the state to investigate and identify the projects the state governments claimed to have implemented.
