Minister downplays fears of food gap in Darfur

The Ministry of Finance downplayed concerns about a food gap in the states of Darfur that would coincide with the rainy season. He said that his ministry has taken measures designed to reduce the rising prices, through the provision of grain to citizens at prices lower than the market. Minister of Finance Ali Mahmoud, asked before parliament about this question of urgency, explained that his ministry has provided from strategic stocks 60 thousand sacks of grain in the state of North Darfur and another 30 thousand sacks arrived in South Darfur.
