MiG kills camel herder in Darfur’s East Jebel Marra

A herder and eight of his camels were killed during a bombardment by a MiG fighter on Tuesday in the area of Kaja in East Jebel Marra. Speaking to Radio Dabanga, East Jebel Marra residents reported that Hamdan Saad Saleh, of the Abala tribe, was grazing his camels in the area of Kaja, south of Delma, when a MiG bombed him at about 1.30pm on Tuesday.  He and eight of his camels were killed on the spot while three camels sustained serious injuries. The sources reiterated their appeal to the UN Security Council to “immediately and urgently” intervene and stop the indiscriminate aerial bombardments of the Sudanese Air Force government and protect the civilians in Darfur.
