Man killed in gunmen’s attack on West Darfur village

Pro-government militiamen killed one, and wounded others in Hillet Humeida during a robbery. A team of villagers and police was not able to arrest the perpetrators.

A 50-year-old man was shot dead in Kereinik locality, West Darfur, on Wednesday.

A group of twelve militiamen on horses attacked Hillet Humeida and robbed villagers at about 9 pm. They killed Khadija Adam Hussein, a relative told Dabanga. Several others were wounded.

“A local rescue team tracked down the pro-government militiamen. Their traces ended up in one of the villages south-east of Sharif.”

The relative added that the rescue team used the help of police and army forces from a nearby garrison, but they were not able to arrest the perpetrators.
