Members of the security service took a man from inside his house in Khartoum state and beat him on Thursday.

A family member of the abducted man told Radio Dabanga that four members of the National Intelligence and Security Service, armed and driving a Hilux vehicle without number plates, arrived at the house of Ahmed Abul Ghasim Mukhtar in El Menshiya on Thursday morning.

“They attacked him and took him to an unknown destination,” the family member said.

“Ahmed was found at El Hawiyat, south of Khartoum. His head was wounded and he carried marks of torture on his body.”

Ahmed Mukhtar, an engineer, was then brought to El Atibba hospital in Khartoum. The family has reported the incident to the police.

The family member added that the abduction by the security forces occurred hours after a conflict between Ahmed Mukhtar and a State Minister in a social occasion at the presidential palace.
