‘Jebel Marra paramilitaries’ raid Central Darfur market

On Sunday, a group of militiamen raided the market of Nierteti in Central Darfur for the second time within days.
Speaking to Radio Dabanga, a market vendor said that “a large group of paramilitaries in 30 Land Cruisers who returned from the fighting in Jebel Marra” stormed the market on Sunday.
“Firing in the air, they robbed a number of shop owners and visitors of their money, mobile phones, and their goods,” he said. “For the second time this week, the market was closed, as the same happened on Thursday.”
