Health intervention in 4 states

The federal health ministry of Sudan announced it will initiate an intervention in several states due to the high rates of malaria cases and the breeding of mosquitoes to continue for one month with federal funding. The coordinator of the national malaria program in the ministry, Dr. Khalid Abdul Muttalib, said in a press statement that the intervention will take place in West and Central Darfur and in the Blue and White Nile states. He added that the increase of diseases in these four states is what led to the planned intervention of the national program, due to start in the beginning of next week until next month. The intervention will include, for instance, the spraying ponds of stagnating water to prevent mosquitoes from breeding.
