The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs sacked the commissioner of the Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC) Hassabu Mohammed Abdullah. A source in the Ministry confirmed an official military decree will be issued soon to sack Hassabu and appoint Suleiman Abdul Rahman. The source pointed to disagreements between Hassabu and the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs Gilani on the work of some humanitarian organizations in Darfur. The ministry denied that the dismissal is because of this disagreement. Hassabu is expected to go to Abu Matarig to start his election campaign as National Congress Party (NCP) candidate for the national assembly.
