Gunmen steal horses in South Darfur

Two gunmen in military uniforms stole two horses at the entrance to the city of Nyala, South Darfur, on Sunday. Mahjoub Adam Tabaldiya, the sheikh of El Salam camp for the displaced in Nyala locality reported to Radio Dabanga that the men robbed camp residents Mohamed Abdallah Ishag and Adam Mohamed Tambuto at gunpoint of their horses.  The incident was reported to the police, but they did not react. Thereupon a “rescue team” was formed by camp residents that followed the trail of the thieves. Their search brought them to the settlement Adam Abu Karank, east of Bileil, where they stopped and returned. Tabaldiya explained that the settlement belonged to Janjaweed. File photo
