Food prices in Darfur: El Fasher, Zalingei, Nyala

The price of a kilo of lamb meat in El Fasher in North Darfur has reached 18 pounds, beef rose to 14 pounds, and okra to two pounds. Traders in Zalingei said that a pound okra powder reached 10 pounds and sauce 8 pounds and a sack of millet reached 10 pounds. The traders said that in Zalingei a bottle of oil costs 5 pounds while tomatoes and potatoes reached 2 pounds per kilo. On its Saturday broadcast Radio Dabanga had reported that in Nyala in South Darfur the price per kilo of lamb meat was 16 pounds, and beef was 12 pounds. Traders in the city said the okra and millet cost 7 pounds and corn 6 pounds.
