Fire destroys seven homes in Kalma camp, South Darfur

A fire in the Kalma camp for the displaced in South Darfur destroyed seven homes and killed a number of livestock on Saturday.
“A group of children were playing with fire near one of the shelters in block 8,” a camp elder told Radio Dabanga.
“The fire spread quite fast, and destroyed seven homes and a small café. One horse and five goats burned to death,” he said.
“Camp residents Abdelhamid Adam Bakhet, Nazir Suleiman, Adam Hamid Saleh, and Yahya Mukhtar suffered minor burns when they helped distinguishing the fire.”
The camp sheikh appealed to the authorities and aid organisations to provide relief to the victims.
