Fire destroys many homes in eastern Darfur

A house fire that broke out Tuesday in eastern Darfur led to the burning of more than 70 houses in the adjoining quarters of Al Tawisha, Al Lait Jar Al Nabi and Awlad Amin, said one of the citizens. The area is inhabited mainly by the Berti tribe. The fire began in one house and was spread by a strong wind to several others. It spread from Al Lait to Awlad Amin. Approximately 43 houses or more burned  in Al Lait and Awlad Amin and another 27 houses in Al Tawisha.
