The Bahri Emergency Room in in the Khartoum North has issued a stark warning regarding the escalating situation in Sudan, particularly in the neighbourhoods of El Samarab and Dardouk. In their statement released yesterday, the Emergency Room emphasised the pressing need to halt the deteriorating conditions.

The emergency room detailed the evacuations taking place in the affected areas, noting the heightened tensions and security threats. “Although Dardouk is among the safest areas and most densely populated in Bahri, the current escalation of tensions and security threats has threatened all residents of these areas,” the statement asserted.

Expressing grave concern over the safety and security of civilians, the Bahri Emergency Room highlighted the increasing threats and violations faced by residents. “We are now living in a time of increasing threats and violations to our safety and security, and many of us are exposed to real risks resulting from the use of residential areas as areas of conflict and war,” the statement continued. “This situation cannot continue and must be stopped immediately.”

“As many months have passed since the start of the war in Sudan, the situation continues to witness negative shifts instead of the expected progress,” the statement read. “The eleventh month passes without any significant developments, but rather more devastation and destruction in Sudan, which reinforces the urgent need to stop this negative cycle and find immediate solutions to end this tragic situation.”

Appealing urgently to all parties involved, the Bahri Emergency Room implored for an end to the use of residential areas as battlegrounds. “These practices not only devalue the lives of innocent residents but also endanger them and lead to insecurity in all aspects of life,” the statement emphasised.

Concluding with a plea for immediate action to safeguard civilians, the Emergency Room underscored the sanctity of human life. “The lives of citizens must be sacred and cannot be compromised and used as human shields,” the statement concluded.
