East Sudan opposition party claims fraud after total defeat

The Beja Congress accused the National Congress Party (NCP) of vote rigging in eastern Sudan after NCP won every constituency except for one state legislative seat. The opposition party failed to win a single seat in the national parliament. Abdullah Moussa, leader of the Beja Congress, said that representatives of the NCP emptied ballot boxes and pushed his own party observers out of the polling stations during voting and counting of votes. He said that his party was able to win one seat on a legislative council because it is for an area where one family and young people guarded the polling stations with small arms during the night.
