Drunk militiaman randomly fires off gun in North Kordofan market

Some shops closed their doors in El Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan, on Friday afternoon due to a militia heavily shooting in the air after Friday prayers. One of the shop owners told Radio Dabanga that government-backed militiamen went shopping after Friday prayers. They left an intoxicated colleague on a military lorry, who suddenly started firing a barrage of bullets into the air, which caused the shop owners to hurriedly close their shops surrounding the area. The merchant said that the authorities did not hold him accountable or arrested him. None of the police or security forces appeared to clarify the matter. He appealed to government authorities to intervene to resolve the problem of the militiamen.
