Darfuri students dismissed from Bahri

The University of Bahri has permanently expelled 13 students from Darfur, for two years, and imposed punishment sanctions on 11 after they asked for exemption from tuition fees in accordance with the Abuja and Doha agreements. The head of the Darfur Students Association Kamal El Zain told Radio Dabanga the dismissal “fits within the framework of systematic government policy towards Darfur”. He added that “Darfuri students will not stand idle and will face the Government’s systematic targeting against them”. El Zain listed the dismissed students: Abu Bakr Mohammed Abkar, Faculty of Pharmacology; Issa Debka, and Siddig El Ghali El Nur, Faculty of Social Studies; Mohammed El Safi Bahar Issa, Mustafa Mohammed Adam Yahya, Saddam Yahya Mohammed Mahmoud, and Mohammed Adam Yahya El Doma, Faculty of Education; Taha Babiker Shogar, Ishag Mohammed Ahmed, and Abul Gasim Abdul Rahman, Faculty of Arts; Ibrahim Abdullah, Faculty of Applied Sciences; Saddam Ismail Ahmed, Faculty of Community Security; Aref Mohammed Abul Gasim, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences.
