Two people were seriously injured and several others are missing after an armed robbery on the road from Nyala, capital of South Darfur, and Nierteti in Central Darfur.

On Thursday, a commercial vehicle heading from Nyala to Nierteti was fired upon buy militiamen near Thur, just inside the Central Darfur border.

Zahra Adam Ali and Adam Ismail Abdul Aziz were seriously injured and a number of other passengers went missing.

A witness told Radio Dabanga that the gunmen took the money and property of the passengers.

On Thursday evening, militiamen opened fire and seriously injured Roda Abdul Rahman Saleh of camp Jebelain for the displaced in Garsila, Central Darfur. One of her relatives said that on Friday, Saleh was transferred in a serious condition to Zalingei hospital for treatment.

The security services in Kass in South Darfur have seized two vehicles loaded with various goods that were travelling coming from Nyala to Thur. One of the merchants told Radio Dabanga said they do not yet know the reason and motive for holding the two vehicles.

The merchant appealed to the authorities to release the two vehicles because the goods on board belong to accredited merchants who have no activities other than trade.
