Daily power outages keep North Darfur students in the dark

Parents in the North Darfur capital of El Fasher complain of exam disruption caused by regular power cuts.
“The daily power cuts happen haphazardly and without any warning from the electricity corporation,” a parent of a secondary school student reported to Radio Dabanga. “Most of the time, we only have electricity from midnight until the early morning.”
He said that the electricity problem “recurs every year at the time the secondary school students are preparing for their certificate exams.
“Also this year, the students are forced to review their lessons at the mosques in the neighbourhoods, as they have power generators.”
