Curfew imposed in West Kordofan’s Keilik

The authorities of Keilik imposed a curfew in the town on Saturday.
An activist told Radio Dabanga that the security committee of Keilik announced a curfew from 8 pm to 8 am on Saturday morning.
The measure was taken following an attack by members of the Central Reserve Police, popularly known as Abu Tira, on the market of Keilik on Thursday.
A number of people were injured when the militiamen beat them. The attackers as well plundered the market and set fire to 17 shops.
“On Friday evening, the locality commissioner met with the commander of Keilik military garrison and the Abu Tira commander,” the source said.
He added that many people in the town resent the curfew, “especially market vendors and owners tea stalls working in the evening”.
