Central Darfur ban on motorcycles

As of 15 November, the use of motorcycles will be prohibited in Central Darfur.
On Sunday, the Central Darfur Security Committee gave the residents of all seven localities 15 days to gain knowledge about the new measure that also ban the wearing of a kadamool veil that covers the face.
Mid November, the Security Committee will commence its inspection campaigns, Governor Jaafar Abdelhakim told reporters in the capital Zalingei. The rampant insecurity in the state has led to the new measures.
The governor said that the incident in Garsila last week that led to the death of a displaced man and the injury of eight herders and two farmers has been resolved.
