SPLM-N El Hilu seeks Egypt’s support in Sudan peace process

The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North faction under the leadership of Abdelaziz El Hilu (SPLM-N El Hilu) agreed with the Egyptian government that, because of its regional and international weight, Egypt must play a supportive role in achieving peace in Sudan.

The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North faction under the leadership of Abdelaziz El Hilu (SPLM-N El Hilu) agreed with the Egyptian government that, because of its regional and international weight, Egypt must play a supportive role in achieving peace in Sudan.

The SPLM-N El Hilu delegation, led by Vice-President Yousef Tikka, said after its consultations with the Egyptian government in Ein Sokhna, that Cairo confirmed its support for the mediation of South Sudanese President Salva Kiir and Juba as negotiating platform.
