Air raids kill and wound civilians in South Kordofan, Sudan: rebels

The Deputy Chief of Togodo in South Kordofan was killed and a 25-year-old woman lost her leg when an Antonov aircraft “belonging to Khartoum” allegedly dropped four bombs on the village this week. Arnu Ngutulu Lodi, official spokesman for the Sudan Peoples’ Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), told Radio Dabanga that Awad Mand (47) died and Samia Elya (25) was wounded in the raid at 11.37am on Monday May 1. Two more bombs were dropped on the city of Boram during the same raid. Lodi told Radio Dabanga that at 10.30am the next morning, an Antonov aircraft dropped a further 14 bombs: six on Jebel Kordofan, two more on the eastern part of Aldar village, four on Tess village and two in Jebel Kua village. “These bombs caused fear and terror among the residents” he said.
