DERIBAT (10 Mar.) – The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) announced yesterday they seized control over Jebel Marra after fighting with the Sudan Liberation Movement. Spokesperson of the SAF, Alsawarmi Khalid told in a statement that the movement lost control over the region. Last week Alsawarmi denied the existence of battles between government forces and the movement in the Jebel Marra region, which is the mountainous central part of the three Darfur states.
