Kabkabiya market closed over abduction of trader

The market in the town of Kabkabiya in North Darfur was closed Thursday after five armed men kidnapped one of the town’s traders. The gunmen brought him by Land Cruiser to an unknown destination. Over the past two days there were also several cases of armed robbery and random shooting at night. Traders chose to close the market to protest the abduction of their colleague. The source told Radio Dabanga that this has resulted in high prices in Kabkabiya.
