Engineer slain, two injured in El Geneina, West Darfur

One engineer was shot dead, and two others were seriously injured, in an attack by militiamen in Gokar, south of El Geneina, on Sunday evening. A witness from West Darfur told Radio Dabanga that the militiamen neared the quarters for engineers of El Wadi Company at 10.30 pm. Nasser Abdallah Ibrahim noticed the movements outside and turned on his flash light, which provoked one of the intruders to immediately shoot him. Two of the nine engineers inside, Abdulal Adam Abdallah and Adam Yahya Ishag, were seriously wounded. The witness reported that the incident was reported to the police. El Wadi Company is a constructor of buildings and facilities inside ‘model villages’ in Darfur. The villages belong to the voluntary return project for displaced people, under the Darfur Regional Authority, as agreed upon in the 2011 Doha Document for Peace.
