Fierce clashes between the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) raged on in the capital, Khartoum, yesterday. In Babanousa, West Kordofan, battles for the 22nd<\/sup> Infantry Division garrison continued yesterday for the fourth consecutive day.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SAF launched multiple attacks on RSF bases in the eastern parts of Khartoum yesterday. The violence sparked panic among residents, who closed their shops throughout the day as a precautionary step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bombings have claimed the lives of an undetermined number of people, and destroyed multiple homes, especially in the neighbourhoods of El Riyadh, El Ta\u2019if, and Arkaweet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The RSF retaliated with barrages of mortar shells targeting the General Command in central Khartoum and the Signal Corps in Khartoum North, local sources reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SAF-RSF clashes in old Omdurman continued.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The price of four litres (a gallon) of fuel has reportedly surpassed<\/a> SDG40,000, emptying the roads of vehicles in Khartoum state, and raising transportation costs. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Babanousa<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Babanousa<\/a>, West Kordofan, the SAF repelled an RSF attack on the 22nd<\/sup> Infantry Division yesterday, according to witnesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe RSF has nestled within several neighbourhoods, and the SAF launched airstrikes on these parts of the town\u201d, they added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The independent platform Sudan War Monitor<\/em> reported<\/a> today that Babanousa \u201cis largely in the hands of the RSF\u201d, and said it was able to geolocate videos showing RSF militiamen inside parts of the 22nd<\/sup> Infantry Division headquarters.<\/p>\n
