Southern Khartoum was calm yesterday, and two days of fighting ended in\u00a0Jebel Aulia in southwest Khartoum.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Omdurman residents reported artillery shelling in parts of the capital city and the centre of Omdurman and Ombadda. Shelling also continued in Sharg El Nil (East Nile) in Khartoum North. A&nbsp;reconnaissance aircraft flew over El Salha in southern Omdurman.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many people have condemned the&nbsp;Qouro Market massacre in Mayo, southern Khartoum. On Sunday, at least 46 people were killed and over 45 injured due to airstrikes aimed at the market.&nbsp;The hospital \u201cturned into a bloodbath as an overwhelming number of patients with serious injuries began to stream in,\u201d Mohamed Kandasha, spokesperson for emergency medical response at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dabangasudan.org\/en\/all-news\/article\/sudan-medics-khartoum-hospital-a-bloodbath-as-airstrike-death-toll-reaches-43\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bashair University Hospital<\/a>, told Radio Dabanga.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kandasha further reported that the neighbourhoods in south Khartoum&nbsp;were calm \u201cafter a bloody day.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clementine Nkweta-Salami, the UN secretary-general\u2019s deputy special representative for Sudan with the United Nations Integrated Transition Assistance Mission in Sudan\u202f(UNITAMS), condemned the indiscriminate attacks on residential areas in Khartoum. She called them \u201cunacceptable and a violation of international humanitarian law.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed alignright is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Indiscriminate attacks on residential areas of Khartoum are completely unacceptable and violate international humanitarian law.<br><br>The attack that killed and wounded dozens of people in a market on Sunday is just the latest example of the daily horrors that <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Sudan?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Sudan<\/a>&#39;s civilians face.<\/p>&mdash; Clementine Nkweta-Salami immediately following the Qouro Market massacre. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lawyers called for the warring parties to \u201csit at peaceful negotiating tables.\u201d Their statement, published yesterday, also called on the regional and international community to intensify their efforts to stop the war and violations that affect innocent and unarmed citizens.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hostilities continue to show no signs of abating in Khartoum as clashes resumed between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the RSF <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dabangasudan.org\/en\/all-news\/article\/fighting-continues-in-sudan-capital-causing-a-humanitarian-catastrophe-in-el-shajara\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">throughout the week<\/a>. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sudan\u2019s Sovereignty Council head <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dabangasudan.org\/en\/all-news\/article\/sudan-south-sudan-heads-el-burhan-and-kiir-meet-in-juba\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lt Gen Abdelfattah El Burhan<\/a> visited Qatar last week, where he said in a press statement that the rebellion by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) would \u201csoon be quashed, ushering in a period of peace and stability for Sudan\u201d.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GeneralDagllo\/status\/1698768346592825725?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">audio recording<\/a> posted on <em>X<\/em> (formerly known as <em>Twitter<\/em>) on Monday, Commander Mohamed \u2018Hemedti\u2019 Dagalo stated that the RSF remained in Khartoum without any \u201cintention of seeking control over Sudan,\u201d but they were determined to continue <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dabangasudan.org\/en\/all-news\/article\/hemedti-rsf-does-not-seek-control-over-sudan-but-will-fight-on-to-the-last-soldier\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cfighting until the last soldier\u201d<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>* <em>Khartoum\u2019s <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dabangasudan.org\/en\/all-news\/article\/sudan-opposition-condemns-ethnically-based-attacks-in-southern-khartoum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer
