Tribal attacks on various parts of the city have left at least 90 people dead. Again, thousands of people fled to neighbouring Chad.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During clashes between army soldiers and paramilitaries of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the West Darfur capital &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dabangasudan.org\/en\/all-news\/article\/darfur-update-clashes-in-el-geneina-extended-truce-in-el-fasher-and-popular-initiatives-in-nyala\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">on Monday<\/a>, at least 25 people were killed. Thousands fled their homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Tuesday, the violence turned tribal, when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dabangasudan.org\/en\/all-news\/article\/west-darfur-clashes-leave-25-dead-prisoners-freed-in-nyala-and-el-fasher\">gunmen in Land Cruisers and on motorcycles<\/a> attacked various neighbourhoods in El Geneina and the surrounding camps for the displaced. The attacks left an unknown number of people dead and injured. Many more people fled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A woman who lived in one of the camps for the displaced adjacent to the city, told Radio Dabanga that \u201call the shelters in our camp burned to ashes\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Radio Dabanga\u2019s correspondent in El Geneina reported that at least 90 people have been killed the past days. \u201cAgain, thousands of people crossed the border into Chad, most of whom are women, children, and the elderly. \u201cThe situation they are in is extremely dire, with high temperatures and a lack of trees for shade or tents to shelter them\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unrefugees.org\/news\/unhcr-gravely-concerned-as-refugees-fleeing-fighting-in-sudan-arrive-in-chad\/\">According to estimates<\/a> of the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR ), more than 20,000 people had fled to neighbouring Chad by Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2018Catastrophic\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reports on social media described the situation in El Geneina as \u201ccatastrophic\u201d, with water and power stations destroyed.
