One American and two Sudanese working for the Christian-based aid group Samaritan\u2019s Purse were abducted in Abuajura, South Darfur, on 18 May.&nbsp;<!--break--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cI would like to take this opportunity to underscore the important humanitarian work being undertaken by Samaritan\u2019s Purse in Darfur, and our appreciation for the efforts of the Government of Sudan in securing their safe and immediate release,\u201d Charpentier commented.&nbsp;He also expressed support to the families and colleagues of these staff members during this difficult time. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This is the third kidnapping this year of international workers in Darfur. The first two were linked to pro-government militia. Last year also all four kidnappings of international aid workers were also linked to militia previously associated with and armed by the government of Khartoum.
