Darfur critical of UNAMID over Kalma violence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The opposition political forces in South Darfur condemned the state of lawlessness in the city of Nyala, and the conditions in Kalma Camp to which the displaced are subjected. The opposition issued a joint statement and said that they hold UNAMID responsible for the disorder and violence that has claimed lives and caused damage to the displaced in Kalma Camp. <!--break-->The statement was signed by the Umma Party, the Popular Congress Party, the Communist Party, the Baath Party and the Women&#8217;s Coalition. They called on UNAMID to protect civilians. The statement noted that the fighting inside the Kalma Camp led to an exodus of citizens from the camp and their plight was not addressed by either the government or civil society organizations.
