The commander of military region of El Geneina, in a news conference with Abu Al-Gasim Al Amin, Deputy Governor, said that the Justice and Equality Movement had turned up in the north of the state near Seleia, about 60 miles from El Geneina. Government forces then clashed with the movement killing three and wounding two, he said. The government forces were continuing to pursue the movement in areas near Jebel Moon, he said. The rebels left behind three vehicles, ammunition and weapons. The government took seven prisoners, four of whom were leaders of the movement.JEM official Abubakr Hamid Nur denied this. He said the rebels defeated the government and took vehicles from them. The clash occurred when one of JEM\u2019s \u201cadministrative convoys\u201d was ambushed in West Darfur, he explained. The rebels dealt with the attackers and defeated them in the in the Arafa area between Gelgela and Girgigirgi on 10 January.<\/p>\n

In other remarks, however, he detailed how three rebel leaders were betrayed by Arab tribesmen hosting them in West Darfur.<\/p>\n
