A witness on the mountain told Radio Dabanga on Friday that the people were stranded there for two days. He said that they had fled on foot to the mountain from villages neighboring Shangil Tobaya.<\/strong><!--break-->They were fleeing from aerial bombardments and violent house-to-house searches by government forces, he said. Witnesses described the searches as humiliating and accompanied by looting and confiscation of property.
