The Liberation and Justice Movement, the Darfuri rebel faction headed by Dr. Tijani Sese, has replied to the mediators of the Darfur conflict on outstanding differences with the government. The rebel negotiators stated their \u201cfinal position\u201d on the administrative status of Darfur and security arrangements. The joint mediation of Qataris and UN\/African Union officials are trying to bring the government and rebels to a compromise on the two dossiers that remain disputed: power-sharing and security.<\/p>\n
Tijani Sese\u2019s movement adhered to its position on the region\u2019s administrative status, insisting on one provincial government for Greater Darfur. They also continue to insist on representation in the institution of the presidency by way of appointment of a Darfuri to the position of Vice President.<\/p>\n
According to Taj El-din Naim, the JEM chief negotiator, now that the movement has delivered its position to the mediators they and are now waiting for a final document to be prepared by the mediators for agreement.<\/p>\n
