Witnesses said that the streets of the city became almost lifeless during the afternoon hours because most of the residents went to the discovered area in search of gold along with thousands of others from different parts of Darfur. <!--break-->On the other hand, sources from Kass District interviewed by Radio Dabanga doubted the presence of gold which attracted citizens to the area for almost three weeks without any gain for their toils.
