Dr. Khalil Ibrahim of the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), calls on president Omar al-Bashir to resign and carry responsibility for the secession of the south. Dr. Khalil forewarns further divisions in Sudan, with relentless war, should the Bashir regime remain in power. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n In an interview with Radio Dabanga, Dr. Khalil said that the solution would have to come from a top-down dismantling. He proposes a conference be held, with representatives from every province, calling for re-unification. Rules should be stipulated in a new constitution, establishing more autonomy for regions. Additionally, a road map must be prepared, which is to decrease military power, while promoting a civil society based on equality. Khalil declared that slavery and poor living standards should be eradicated, away from the current situation under Bashir and his cronies.<\/span>Khalil Ibrahim pointed out that Bashir exclaimed last week, that he would not enter in any peace negotiations after signing the Doha Agreement, this Thursday. Khalil stresses that Bashir seeks to provoke other groups with his recklessness being characteristic for his military dictatorship. Khalil expressed how Bashir operated similarly during the Omdurman Agreement of May 2008. Despite peace talks, Bashir\u2019s desire to rule, at the cost of many lives, will persist, observed Khalil to Radio Dabanga.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
