Survivor says people are routinely fleeing to the mountains in search of shelter<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Sudanese Air Force (SAF) has bombed the village of Elcok, south of Silara area in Dilling County on Wednesday, a survivor of the attack told Radio Dabanga.The survivor, who was able to escape the attacks and took refuge in the Nuba Mountains, told Radio Dabanga that government aircrafts bombed an area south of Silara in South Kordofan.<\/p>\n

Two powerful blasts rocked the area creating a large hole in the ground. The incident has left an estimated 80 cows and 180 goats dead due to posionous chemicals released by the blasts, according to the source.<\/p>\n

The survivor, who fled the scene complained of headache, pain in the throat and severe cough.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to appeal to the United Nations Security Council to provide immediate protection to the civilians in South Kordofan and the Nuba Mountains. People are now being displaced every day to the mountains by government air strikes,\u201d he told Radio Dabanga.<\/p>\n

The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-North) had confimed earlier this month of repeated shelling carried out by the SAF in South Kordofan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

SPLM-South Kordofan welcomes UN report<\/strong><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Sudan People\u2019s Liberation Movement (SPLM) in South Kordofan has welcomed the United Nations\u2019 report on human rights violations<\/a> committed by the Sudanese government in the state.<\/p>\n

Abdul Aziz Adam Al-Hilu, the president of the movement in South Kordofan told Radio Dabanga, \u201cIt is a positive sign that the UN has called these human rights violations war crimes or crimes against humanity.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added there were three (3) mass graves inside the city of Kakulai. He blamed Ahmed Harun, the governor of South Kordofan who is wanted for a trial in the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Darfur, for the mass graves.<\/p>\n

Al-Hilu also pointed out that this is not a new crime for the National Congress Party (NCP), and that such mass killings have become a norm in South Kordofan.<\/p>\n

He called all the people of Sudan and various political forces and civil movements to unite and overthrow the regime. He told Radio Dabanga, \u201cThe massacres and ethnic cleansing must stop. So must the rape and scorched-earth policies adopted by the regime.\u201d<\/p>\n
