The movement denies holding any military training camps, says wrongdoers are impostors<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM) is recruiting citizens of South Darfur’s Asalaam locality into military training camps, a leader of a local tribe accused on Wednesday.Nazer Mohammad Yaqub of the Tarjem tribe told Radio Dabanga that he had noticed certain groups claiming to be affiliated to the LJM organizing training training camps.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have heard about these people distributing military ranks for money. I want to know who is responsible for these acts,\u201d Yaqub said.<\/p>\n

Denial<\/strong><\/p>\n

The LJM spokesperson Ahmed Fadel, however, dismissed these allegations claiming that the groups behind such recruitment drives were impostors who had nothing to do with the movement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey have their own agenda. They are fraudulent. I am warning the citizens of Darfur to beware of these impostors. They have no links with the LJM,\u201d Ahmed Fadel said.<\/p>\n

He confirmed that the LJM had no security arrangement with the government of Sudan and therefore wasn’t going to recruit Darfuris into its militia.<\/p>\n

The commissioner of Asalaam locality asked the security forces in the region to not allow establishment of such camps. \u201cWhoever is interested in gaining military training must do so in the formal training academy in Nyala,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
