Say they will take all means necessary to establish democracy in Sudan<\/STRONG><\/P>

Representatives of various Darfuri opposition groups met in London earlier this week to \u201ccall for political change in Sudan.\u201dThe event organized by the UK chapter of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) was held on October 1. Representatives of Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), Democratic Union Party (DUP), Umma Party, Sudan Liberation Army-Minni Minnawi (SLA-MM), SLA-Abdel Wahid and Beja Congress were present at the meeting.<\/P>

Various Darfuri opposition groups have shown a willingness lately to unite in order to pursue their common goal of overthrowing the regime in Khartoum. The formation of the Kauda alliance<\/A> is the latest move in this direction.<\/P>
\n

The armed opposition groups expressed their unwillingness to stand by and watch the government of Sudan continue indiscriminate attacks in Blue Nile, South Kordofan and Darfur.<\/P>
\n

\u201cThese ongoing atrocities being committed by the Sudanese government, against its own people and despite the condemnation of the international community, are unacceptable to the people of Sudan, and must be stopped immediately,\u201d a statement released by the JEM said.<\/P>
\n

The opposition groups vowed to use all means necessary in order to establish a democratic state in Sudan which respects the diversity of its population.<\/P><\/p>\n
