Darfuri rebel groups vividly criticize the Sudanese president’s actions<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Darfuri rebel forces appealed to the international community to put pressure on Khartoum for the implementation of the UN resolutions on Darfur. The appeal came in response to a threat by President Bashir to expel UNAMID forces from the region. Abdulla Mursal, spokesperson of Minawi\u2019s Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM) described Mr. Bashir’s words as \u201cunfit for a president<\/em>\u201d and added that Bashir had often made similar statements in the past before reneging on them.<\/p>\n

From his side, the spokesman of the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) Jibril Bilal said that the decision to extend the period of UNAMID\u2019s presence came as a result of the Security Council realizing the old UNAMID mandate would not suffice to protect civilians, let alone itself. “The Government\u2019s refusal to implement the decision aims to keep the UNAMID weak so it can continue its activities in Darfur without hindrance<\/em>” he said.<\/p>\n

President Elbashir threatened on Wednesday to dismiss any party willing to implement Security Council decision 2003, which implies a one-year extension of the UNAMID mission in Sudan. He added that \u201cthey can soak and drink resolution 2003, just like resolution 1706<\/em>\u201d and said the regime would eliminate anyone who does not respect the country’s ruler.<\/p>\n

No negociations to end the war in Blue Nile & South Kordofan<\/strong><\/p>\n

On a different matter, Qamar Dahlman, media advisor to the head of the Sudan People\u2019s Liberation Movement (SPLM) in South Kordofan said the SPLM will not negotiate with the Khartoum regime once it will have decided to topple it. The statement came as a response to Bashir\u2019s demand for the SPLM to hand over their weapons to stop the war. He stated that \u201cMr. Bashir is in a psychological crisis due to the refusal of political forces to participate his regime, the people\u2019s protests <\/em>against him and the deterioration of the economic situation<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Sudanese President had asked on Wednesday for the SPLM to accept the results of the elections and hand over its weaponry as a condition to end the war in South Kordofan and Blue Nile. Mr. Bashir furthermore stated that he was not open to any negotiation, nor would he agree to the creation of new protocol or security arrangements.<\/p>\n
