Sudanese army denies loss, says they weren\u2019t engaged in any battle
<\/strong><\/p>\n

The opposition Sudan People\u2019s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) announced on Friday that it had destroyed four tanks belonging to the Sudanese army near Kadugli after a day-long battle.<\/p>\n

The Sudanese army however denied the SPLM-N\u2019s claim and said that there was no fighting in the area of Al Hamra, five kilometers from Kadugli.<\/p>\n

The war in South Kordofan state of Sudan began in May this year, before the secession of South Sudan from the North.<\/p>\n

Qamar Dahlman, media adviser to the SPLM-N in South Kordofan, told Radio Dabanga that in addition to destroying the four tanks, the SPLA (armed wing of the SPLM-N) had captured a large number of Sudanese army vehicles in Friday\u2019s battle in Al Hamra locality.<\/p>\n

Dahlman also said that they had gathered intelligence about the use of Libyan weapons by the Sudanese army and its militia. He said the weapons, which were provided by the Libyan rebels, had reached Khartoum.<\/p>\n

Intensive air strikes<\/strong><\/p>\n

The SPLM-N said that the Sudanese air force had resumed intensive air strikes on all cities in South Kordofan. \u201cThe Sudanese air force has resumed its operations of intensive aerial bombardment on a number of villages which are free of any SPLM-N presence. This is true for several localities of Blue Nile and South Kordofan,\u201d Dahlman said.<\/p>\n

He stressed that this confirms the continuation of ethnic cleansing and genocidal plans of the regime. \u201cHuman rights organizations are preparing reports that confirm the crimes committed by the regime in South Kordofan and Nuba mountains and will be presented in front of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the near future,\u201d Dahman said.<\/p>\n
