Tells UNSC that the newly seceded country is supporting rebels in South Kordofan and Blue Nile<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Sudanese government filed a complaint on Saturday against newly independent South Sudan, accusing them of supporting rebels in South Kordofan and Blue Nile regions of the North.<\/p>\n

Al Obeid Ahmed Murawah, spokesperson for the Sudanese ministry of foreign affairs, accused that the Southern government of supporting rebels in South Kordofan and Blue Nile with aircrafts, missiles, tanks, landmines and other ammunition.<\/p>\n

This is the second time since August that Khartoum has lodged an official complaint at the UNSC against its neighbor.<\/p>\n

South denies charges<\/strong>
Meanwhile, South Sudan has strongly denied the charges and termed the allegation as \u201cbaseless.\u201d<\/p>\n

Philip Aguer, spokesman for the armed forces of the Republic of South Sudan, in turn accused the North of invading its territory: \u201cThe South has strong evidence which indicates that the Sudanese armed forces and its militias are occupying land in South. This has been a continued feature since Omar Al Bashir came to power in1989.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that Sudanese president Omar Al Bashir had lodged the complain in order to invade the land in the South and occupy oil rich areas in the states of Unity, Upper Nile and areas with minerals in Western Bahr el Ghazal.<\/p>\n

South Sudan gained independence from the North in June this year.<\/p>\n
