Says the workshop needs to move beyond the Doha document to ensure its participation<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sudan Liberation Army-Abdul Wahid (SLA-AW) refused on Tuesday to attend to the symposium organized by the US administration in collaboration with the Institute of Peace in Washington.<\/p>\n

The movement said that it was backing out because the workshop, which is scheduled for the 15th and 16th of this month, would revolve around the Doha peace agreement, which it isn\u2019t a part of.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM) \u2013 a signatory of the Doha peace deal–, the Sudan Liberation Army-Minni Minnawi and the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) decided to be part of the workshop. Leaders from the participating movements are expected to travel on Saturday to Washington.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are backing out because we have nothing to do with the Doha document and the symposium revolves around it,\u201d Nimr Abdel Rahman, spokesperson of the SLA-AW, told Radio Dabanga.<\/p>\n

He added that the US administration had stressed that the agenda of the meeting would be the implementation of the Doha agreement, something the SLA-AW didn\u2019t want to subscribe to.<\/p>\n
