Abdul Rahman Abu Al Arab had been in an NISS detention center in Kaas<\/strong><\/p>\n

The deceased civilian held at the National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS) detention center in Kaas was electrocuted to death, sources told Radio Dabanga on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Radio Dabanga reported on Monday about the death of a civilian in custody<\/a>. Sources suggested on Tuesday that Abdul Rahman Abu Al Arab had been detained in a cold prison cell which was electrified. The electrocution apparently led to his death.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter his death, his body was expedited to Nyala by the director of the security headquarters in Kaas. His body had to be collected from the police and he is now buried in Nyala,\u201d one of the relatives of the deceased told Radio Dabanga.<\/p>\n

Al Arab was detained on Thursday along with another person Hassan Azrak, whose fate is yet unknown.<\/p>\n

The family of the deceased called for a trial of the security authorities who ordered Al Arab’s torture. \u201cWe want to know the circumstances of torture and the reasons for the same as well as the disappearance of the other detainee,\u201d the relative told Radio Dabanga.<\/p>\n
