The government of South Sudan has denied reports that the Justice and Equality Movement’s (JEM) forces were moving into its territory.<\/p>\n

Yen Mathew, spokesman of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement, the ruling party in South Sudan said that Khartoum’s accusations were ‘false and baseless’.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday<\/span><\/a> the Sudan government complained to the United Nations Security Council that 79 military vehicles belonging to JEM, carrying 350 fighters were traveling over the border to South Sudan.<\/p>\n

Mathew said to Radio Dabanga, ‘this was an attempt by Khartoum to justify attacking unarmed civilians in Western Bahr al Ghazal’, a state on the South Sudan side of the border.<\/p>\n

Gibril Adam Bilal spokesman for JEM denied that they were moving any troops to South Sudan, or that any troops had moved beyond the 1965 border.<\/p>\n

He also said that all JEM troops were now deployed in Kordofan and Darfur.<\/p>\n
