Air strikes were reported today in Warli village, Talodi locality in South Kordofan.<\/p>\n

The Sudanese air force dropped five bombs, two of which hit the village. A witness said that 23 houses were burned, and part of the village mosque destroyed. A number of livestock were also killed.<\/p>\n

The witness said that the bombs used this time were different. The explosions and resulting fires were larger than they had been. He said previous bombs which had left deep craters, did not create large flames as this incident did.<\/p>\n

Bombing was also reported in Kao and Naro villages in the Abu Gabeha locality of South Kordofan, near the border with South Sudan.<\/p>\n

A witness said the shelling set houses on fires and killed livestock. Residents fled to the surrounding mountain areas.<\/p>\n

Six days earlier during another shelling incident in the same area, a bomb was reported to hit a well.<\/p>\n

A resident said that since that day, villagers were not fetching water from the well, for fears toxins had contaminated the water during the bombardment.<\/p>\n
